Tetherless App Privacy Notice 1.1
Effective October 29, 2026, with Tetherless 1.0.2
- Describes Tetherless 1.0.2. Version 1.0 below described Tetherless 1.0.0.
- Usage statistics can now be turned off in Settings. They are on by default, except on computers set to the UK, the EEA or Switzerland (or an unknown region), where they stay off until you turn them on. Turning them off deletes unsent statistics.
- Usage statistics use a new random analytics ID that you can reset in Settings, instead of the permanent install ID. If you have a license they also carry a license code (your license record ID, never your license key); computers in the UK, the EEA and Switzerland do not send it.
- App health stays off until you choose Share app health, and sends only while usage statistics are also on. Lists what app health sends in plain categories.
- Our server no longer stores your IP address or city with usage statistics or app health, only country and region. It replaces license codes with a coded account reference (none for the UK, the EEA, Switzerland or an unknown country) and removes billing identifiers.
- Send diagnostic now shows a preview and sends only after you click Send. Feedback and Report issue open a draft in your own email app; Report issue no longer includes the reply text.
- Web search now asks before every search and never runs in scheduled Jobs.
- Updates trial check-ins (about once a day), paid key re-checks, the machine hash (now based on the Mac's hardware UUID), and automatic updates (licensed keys only, with the license key sent to our update server).
- Uses platform-neutral wording: Tetherless is for Mac, Windows and Linux. Data retention is unchanged.
Website Privacy Policy 1.0
Effective October 28, 2026
- First versioned release. Replaces the earlier undated, general-purpose website policy.
- Covers only the website: contact form, Tetherless waitlist, downloads, purchases, subscription management, enterprise sign-in, our hosting provider's web analytics and speed insights, rate limiting, and the service providers that handle this data.
- Names the legal entity as Valkyrie AI LLC, d/b/a Reclassify AI.
Tetherless App Privacy Notice 1.0
Effective October 28, 2026
- First versioned release. Replaces the earlier app policy last dated September 27, 2026, which did not match how the app works.
- Corrects that notice: usage analytics are always on (there is no in-app opt-out), they are pseudonymous rather than anonymous, and the license check is not the only network call.
- Lists every network call the app makes, every analytics event, crash and error reporting, the install ID and license link, web search to DuckDuckGo, model downloads from registry.ollama.ai, and the service providers involved.
